Page [1] Monday's Harlem Racing. Thos. J. Gallagher. MONDAYS HARLEM RACING The racing at Harlem yesterday was over a fast track and in a muggy temperature Five of the six events on the card produced interest ¬ ing King flnfshes flushes flnfshesThe lungfishes The last furlong of the first race was full of action five horses being bunched and under punishment The favorite exhibited great speed along the back stretch Rounding the turn she appeared a certain winner She re ¬ tired almost at the head of the homo stretch Teulada Tequila the second choice was green at the post She jumped up and down when asked to break and got off so badly that she was pulled up before going a quarter quarterFlorouso quarter Florouso Flores was much the best of his company in the second race He was shut off in the back stretch and had to make three distinct moves to win Half way around the turn he dashed through one opening Near the furlong post another spurt brought him through into second place Then he challenged Topmast and beat him himMiss shimmies Miss Marks was believed to be in a soft place 1 in the third race She won after a desperate desperatestruggle desperate struggle Off in front she barely lasted long longenough lounge enough to have a head to spare at the winning winningpost winning post postMorte postmortem Morte Mote Fonse Fosse was a hot favorite for the fourth race Severely punished the last threesix threes ¬ teenths tenths he won He might not have done so had not Southern Spy had a bad break at the start and been shut off in the final drive Colonel Clark called Rutter Ruttier out of the line before going to the post and instructed him to use his whip coming home Rutter Ruttier obeyed the letter and spirit of his instruction Inconstancy Jack of Hearts and Southern Spy were also flogged Jack of Hearts race was a great improvement over previous performances here hereA here A palpable foul marred the fifth race and re ¬ sulted silted in the disqualification of the oddson godson favorite Dave Waldo Weald Gray said the colt was to blame but spectators who bad a good view said Gray was the offender For nearly seven furlongs Dave Waldo Weald galloped in front with his mouth wide open Coming into the stretch he swung wide The first sixteenth of the stretch he came along swinging Halfway down Gray turned in his saddle and looked back on the outside Seeing no horses there he quickly turned the other way Then he saw Barataria Barratries and Graziella Grazie lapped and responding to ener ender ¬ getic ethic riding When less than a furlong away Dave Waldo Weald crossed to the inside His left flank bumped against Baratarias Barratries right shoul should ¬ der deer throwing him against Graziolla Granola Both came near going down particularly the filly on which Rose finished out of his stirrups Waldo Weald then went on and finished an easy win ¬ ner near In all probability he would have won easily had he been kept straight Before the horses had been started back toward the scales a crowd gathered around the judges stand There was a slight demonstration The boys were called into the stand Gray said ho hit his colt with the spur and the colt swerved The judges gave him the benefit of the explanation and did not punish him The colts owners and backers suffered for he was disqualified and the race given to Barataria Barratries BaratariaThe Barratries The last race furnished a surprise Time maker and Frank Thompson were chosen as the contenders The Devil being conceded an out ¬ side chance Timemaker Tidemark delayed the start and eventually got away last Frank Thompson did little better When the field got away Donna Rita went to the front and was never headed Timemaker Tidemark closed steadily for five furlongs Then he weakened The Devil in hand to the stretch outfinished untarnished Frank Thomp Thom Imp is now on her way to Sheepshead Shepherd Bay She was shipped yesterday evening and is due at Jersey City tonight If she does well in the humid Atlantic climate the filly will be a starter in the Suburban Handicap to be run Saturday June 18 Her impost will bo 102 pounds Nobody has been engaged to ride her but that matter will be given early attention and a com ¬ petent patent lightweight will have the mount The Suburban is worth 7000 to the winner Satur Saturn ¬ day night Mr Brossman Grossman did not intend to ship the mare east Sunday his friends had time to talk over the matter with him and advice and argument influenced him to change his mind Paul Miles is probably as much responsible as anybody for Imps departure departureFrank departure Frank Phillips arrived from California yes ¬ terday tray He stopped at Leadville Clavicle and Denver DenverW Denver W Martin was at the track but did not have any mounts He got back yesterday morning from Cincinnati where he rode Plaudit in a valkover walkover for the Buckeye Stakes Saturday Wednesday night he will go to Latonia Antonia to ride the great 3yearold in the Latonia Antonia Derby He will riae rae Plaudit in all stake engagements ex ¬ cepting creping those in which Pat Dunne may have a starter starterJockey starter Jockey T Burns got in yesterday morning and was a busy figure in the racing racingA racing
