Becky Rolfe, so long a disappointment on the flat, bids fair to rate well over tbe obstacles. Joseph Ullmau is in the city, fresh from West Baden, where he spent a short season in recuperating after a lively winter campaign at Hot Springs, Ark. He leaves for the east ehortly, and will begin booking at the Aqueduct tracks. Many improvements are in progress at the Brighton Beach race track. The grandstand is being repaired inside ana eut, and the management contemplates spending a lot of money before the gallopers get down their way. The following declarations from the Carter handicap, to be run at Aqueduct on tbe 17th inst, have been received :— A thanas, L'Alonette, Alpen, Dr. Eichberg and Swiftmas. William Bruen is to wield the flag at St. Louis this year, the announcement to that effect having been promulgated by President Anil. Some of the many courteous men who study Daily Racing Form have sent enough back numbers of the monthlies to make up five more copies of Yearly Racing Form. The book is a glory. Nothing like it in the way of racing literature was ever published before. Within its 3,500 pages are full charts of regular racing from January 1, 1898— No. 3492— to December 31, 1898— No. 10186. That means the full charts of 6,694 races. Yearly Racing Form is luxuriously bound in heavy morocco covers. It's index runs from January 1, 1897 to December 31, 1898— two years — and is on linen paper with a lettered thumb index. The first book of this class was built for the editor of Daily Racing Form. It served him bo well that all the spare sheets of 1898 form were bound ■ into annuals of the same type. Five are being made up and are for sale at $20 per copy. The few books will be sold on the order of application. ..YOU CAN THROW AWAY.. Much money and get little value for it, if you buy poor information.
