The Lakeside Jockey Club claims as dates for its fall meeting October 30 to November 15. FASIG-TIPTON CO.'S BIG MOVE. New York, N. Y., April 26— The Fasig-Tipton Co. and W. L. Powers, the racing agent, have acquired William Easton's paddocks and business. The new owners will conduct the thoroughbred sales business, Easton remaining as auctioneer, giving the Fasig-Tipton Co. exclusive control of his service for a term of years. Mr. We6tmore, the statistician of the Easton Co., goes with the new organization. L ATOM A TRACK GOSSIP. Quite ■ number of horses are in training at Latonia. The Enquirer of yesterday gives the following items of interest: "Never in the history of the famous old Latonia course has the track been in better shape than at present. Yesterday there was some very fast work done among the horses stabled there. "St. Ivor, Rutledge & Stevens's Latonia Derby candidate, was sent three-quarters of a mile with a big boy up and did the trick cleverly in 1:161. The colt has improved wonderfully over his two-year-old form and if nothing happens he will be a contender in the big event scheduled for the opening day at the Kenton county track. "Everybody in the racing business knows Dave Prewitt of Danville, Ky., who became famous as the owner of Mary Alice Laurence, the prize maiden of the western turf. Dave is at Latonia from his home near Danville, Ky., and was given the glad hand yesterday when he appeared on the track to work out a two-year-old colt named Sam Lyons. The colt is by Scorpion— Mary Alice Laurence, and that's why-Mr. Prewitt is so interested in the horse's training. Although the colt's dam was retired a maiden, there is nothing slow about Sam Lyons. He is one', of the speediest youngsters on the track and has showed a number of fast trials this spring. "Billy Carroll will take his small but select string to Louisville next Friday from Latonia. ' He has Lord Zeni, Samovar and one or two others. Yesterday Lord Zeni was sent along for seven furlongs, and had no trouble in covering the distance inl :29. All of Carroll's horses wintered well, and are in the best of shape. "A fast workout at Latonia yesterday has set the horsemen talking. The work was done by George Hinkle's Devotee— Miss Dixon filly Angea. The filly went a quarter of a mile with apparent ea6e in the remarkable time of 22' | seconds, and without being pushed clipped off three-eighths of a mile in KM second. "The Oots Bros, have a clever two-year-old in their barn of the name of Atmore. The filly is a full sister to the great Banaster, and has -worked three-eighths of a mile easily in :361. "Old Headlight promises to be the real goods this season in the hands of B. L. Marders. Yesterday he clipped off a mile in 1 :451, pulled up, and was ready to go on, when the trainer gave orders to ease him up. "The three-year-old colt Enghurst, owned by Engleman & Co., is a very nice looking three-year-old this season. Yesterday the colt galloped a half mile in :49i around the middle of the track fighting for his head. "J. T. Stewart is at Latonia with his big stable from Amsterdam, N. Y. Mr. Stewart has Orimar, Mayor Dixon and a number of other good ones. "Ed Morrison has John McElroyand Mizzouri in fine shape at Latonia, and they will be fit to race early in the season. "Wells & Co. will ship to Louisville Sunday with Lord Eberlee, La Grange, Sam Lyons and others. The crack flyer of this string, old Kriss Kringle, will be missing in the west this year. THE FEATHERSTONE STABLE. Mr. A. Featberstone's splendid stable of over twenty racers has made the trip from Lexington to New York in safety and is now comfortably quartered at Morris Park. Last night Mr. Featherstone departed for New York to be on hand when the horses face the starter at the nearby Morris Park meeting. His strong faith in the success of his horses this year is amply justified by their past records and the Chicago followers of their fortunes will be legion. The horses taken east by trainer Julius Bauer were as follows: Previous, b. h, 5, by Meddler— Sunnyside, by Mortimer. Andronicus, b. c, 4, by Strathmore — Ovation, by Onondaga. Whitney now, and, according to reports, she has grown to be a handsome looking animal. Tom Welch, who trains for the Fleischmann's, has been handling her.
