Herewith Daily Racing Form presents its readers a list of over four hundred owners, together with their trainers and jockeys. It does not cover all the owners of this country by any means, but is sufficiently comprehensive to constitute a handy directory that will be found serviceable by many. In the case of some trainers it may stand correction, because of transfers of service that have not been announced. Such cases will be corrected on notice. A. Owners. Trainers. Jockeys. Anderson, H. The colt is highly tried, haying shown a half in 50J seconds over the Memphis track, and he cost something over $1,000. Joseph A. Murphy, who was spoken of as presiding judge and general manager of a proposed race meeting at Seattle, Wash., will not act in those capacities. Horace Egbert, of San Francisco, has been given the position. There will be two months of racing at Seattle in June and August. The following additional horses have been declared out of the Carter Handicap: John A. Scott, Janeway, Rightful, April Shower and Monograph. Manager Price has. issued the program book for the coming Louisville meeting. It is one of the handsomest pamphlets ever gotten out by the New Louisville Jockey Club. The cover is done in orange and black, with pictures of the heads of McChes-ney and Hermis facing each other. The conditions of the stakes and purses are presented, with no purse of the value of less than $400, and no handicap of the value of less than $500. There is an index to all the horses named in the book arranged in alphabetical order. The dates on which the stakes will be run are announced as follows: Kentucky Derby, three-year-olds, Saturday, May 2. Debutante Stakes, two-year-olds, fillies, Monday, May 4. I Steeplechases through the center field, with six fences to each mile, including a water jump, have been programmed for the following days: Monday, May 4; Thursday, May 7; Saturday, May 9; Tuesday, May 12; Thursday, May 14; Saturday, May 1G; Tuesday, May 19. Several days ago at Churchill Downs, John E. Madden's derby candidate, Onatas, worked an easy mile in 1:50, while Cook's Linguist and E. Corrigan's McGee both got useful gallops. These three are at present among the most promising Kentucky Derby eligibles. Derby candidates have all had plenty of slow exercise. They have speeded half miles around the 50 second mark, and if the track remains good, trainers will begin to send them fast in the next few days. Reports from Nashville say that Runnels has improved greatly. He has let down and muscled up, and is now a lengthy but stout, sturdy horse. As a two-year-old he ran some sensational races at St. Louis in the fall, and turfmen there considered him a better colt than McChesney. He was certainly a far better two-year-old, by seven pounds at least, than Wyeth. He is just about as fine a type of the high-class racehorse now as one would care to look at. The Miller received a lucky start, fell right in behind the pacemaker, which he followed closely and finally wore down in the stretch, winning going away fast. Stirling Towers suddenly developed improved speed and stamina and ran a good race. Tyranus was skillfully handled and steadily improved his position and was going fast at the end under punishment. The Singer was crowded against the rail early and closed a fair gap. Young Morello prefers stiff going, went a good five furlongs and was easing up in the last furlong. Legal Maxim was always outrun. Doublet forged to the front with ease after indulging Royal F. with the lead to the stretch, outclassing the, field. Royal F. evidently liked the sloppy going for he raced into a long lead early, after getting away badly, but was tiring badly at the end. Sugden began slowly and closed a tremendous gap from the half, is in great form and almost invincible on a heavy track. Pat Oran got away badly and improved his position. Jennie Hughes retired early. Flamero received a lucky start and being particularly favored by the going he ran in much improved form, came through next to the rail on the stretch turn, interfering sharply with the favorite, then came on in the best going and just lasted out. Mexicana got away flat-footed and. quickly raced into a long and apparently winning lead, but easing up on the turn was crossed by the winner and her chances destroyed. She finished very fast, but was swerving in the bad going at the end. Pat Morrissey got away badly, closed a great gap and finished fast. Bogus Bill was not quite good enough in the going. Priestlike fell away after excessive early use in following the fast early pace. Sea Lion was overweighted and outrun, but was gaining at the end. Snare was badly interfered with at the start. Military Man, away slowly, came through on the inside, finished with a rush and was wearing the winner down. Edward Corrigan is having more bad luck at Churchill Downs. His crack mare Layia is seriously sick with lung fever, and there is small hope of her recovery. The mare was shipped to Louisville only a short time ago from New Orleans, where she was raced during the winter, and contracted lung fever en route to Churchill Downs. Layia is a chestnut mare, five years old, by Friar's BalsamLady Paramount. S. Doggett has decided to quit riding for good and all. He has taken out a trainer's license, and will bend his energies in that direction in the future. He and his brother, R. C. Doggett, own three horses now, which Sam will train the coming season. They have a two-year-old colt by Wagner, a two-year-old filly by Albert, and the three-year-old filly Sis Wagner, and may add to their stable later on. The biggest stables quartered at Cumberland Park are Wishard, thirty-two head; T. P. Hayes, thirty, and William Gerst, twenty-six. Other important lots in quality if nbt in numbers are those of Turney Bros., Clay Bros., E. S.Gardner, Gorman & Bauer, George Hendrix, W. W. Darden & Co., and S. W. Streett, who arrived a few days ago from New Orleans. Perry Belmont last Wednesday engaged the lightweight jockey Wallace Hicks to ride for him this year on the metropolitan circuit Hicks will enter immediately upon his service as Mr. Belmont's rider and remain in his service until December 1. A clause in this contract between Mr. Belmont and A. J. Plieque, Hick's guardian, stipulates that Mr. Belmont shall have first call on the boy's services next year if this season's work is satisfactory. The securing of a jockey was the object of Mr. Belmont's visit to Washington, and when that business was cou-cluded he left for New York. He will not visit Bennings track again this spring unless called over by particular business. Sidney J. Holloway, the well known gentleman rider who broke a collarbone while schooling a horse at Bennings last week, is rapidly recovering his health and strength. He expects to be able to ride again in ten days, and will have a mount in the Hunters' Steeplechase Handicap, a week from next Saturday. NOTICE.
