XIII. yO. 180. CHICAGO, SUNDAY, JTJLY 28, 1907. PRICE 5 CENTS Colin's Fifth Victory: Keene's Unbeaten Commando Colt Wins Brighton Junior Stakes COLIN'S FIFTH VICTORY. KEENE'S UNBEATEN COMMANDO COLT WINS BRIGHTON JUNIOR STAKES. Dandelion's Triumph in Seashore Handicap Brighton Steeplechase Easy for Commodore Fontaine. New York, July 117. One of tlio best cards of the Wilson, consisting of three big stakes, a mile condition alTair anil two selling races, t was decided at Brighton Beach today. The attendance was second only to the record-breaking Brighton Handicap day, July 10. The time for the start of the fust race was set hack to 11:10 ten minutes later than usual. The weather would have been ideal but for tiie half sale from the ocean, which raised clouds of dust. The Brighton Junior, at six furlongs, was the principal attraction and absorbing interest centered in the liflli appearance of the unbeaten and, up to date, undisputed champion juvenile Odin. Although opposed by a brilliant quartette Chapultepec, liar None, Monopolist and Smoker, the odds against him were meager. Many a man took a dying chance on Colin today ami, excepting for an instant on the last .turn, the great colt never caused his backers to fear for the ultimate victory. James K. Keene walked over to James Kowe, the trainer, and simply said "thank you." Haiti or shine, Mr. Keene pays a daily visit to Colin's Mall. lie says himself that he is more wrapped up i" this youngster than in any horse he has ever owned. John E. Madden remarked when Colin came back to the siiilus: "I can beat him witli Uncle. Did you see Smoker run just now with Mr. Keeno's coltV Why, Smoker can't even exercise my youngster. I wouldn't take less for him than I got for Hamburg and that was if 10.000. As a matter of fact I just asked $41,(MlO lor him last Thursday." The Seashore Handicap of secondary importance to the two-year-old fixture, was generally voted a gift for Dandelion. Mr. Hilchcock's horse was also held at an extremely short price, and, like Colin, had a legion of followers. Almost throughout the entire running Dandelion seemed to have the measure of his opponents, and when he drew out decisively on the last turn, with Miller sitting still and apparently unconcerned, overylKwly began to watch the struggle in the rear. Suddenly Ked Leaf shot out of the ruck anil made a bold challenge in the last hundred yards. Tills alert rider, however, was ready for such a contingency and succeeded in standing Iter off. After leading for a mile liuttling re'ireil and pulled up lame. There was a report that McGinnis' horse had broken down Irretrievably. The tabled history of the Seashore Handicap is shown below: oar. Jr., explained that the Kossingtou horse liad clipped himself, which retarded his preparation, and not being unite keyed up, Mr. Hitchcock was unwilling to risk the chance of defeat. There were only four starters in the rich : ess-country fixture Commodore Fontaine, Granilp:!, Coligny and Rocker. The first named had an easy task in disposing of the other three. Stone rode him leisurely in behind for a little over half the journey, then went to the front and came home practically alone. The result justified the heavy support accorded Mr. Colt's horse, from 9 to J! at the opening; they weiv; taking 13 to 10 at post. time. The public had the best of its argument with the ring, four favorites, three of them at odds-on, a heavily backed third choice and an outsider, accounting for the card. The AVhitney two-year-old liar None was brought down from lirookdale to run in the Brighton Junior. Sanguine is said to be wind broken and the high wind choked him while running up the backstretch. Cella Rumor Rife Again: St. Louis Man, However, Still Denies Connection with Butler CELLA RUMOR RIFE AGAIN. ST. LOUIS MAN, HOWEVER, STILL DENIES CONNECTION WITH BUTLER. Holtman Is Appointed as Starter for .the Empire City Meeting Nothing From the Jockey Club. New York, July 27. Matt' J. Winn made the announcement this afternoon that, because of the Jockey Club's objection to their having any connection witli the Empire City track, Joseph A. Murphy and A. B. Dade had formally declined the positions of presiding judge and starter respectively, and that Jake Holtman, who Is at present in Cincinnati, has been selected to do the starting. Beyond this there was nothing forthcoming as to the plans for the proposed meeting.' The Jockey Club, unless the fact that Murphy and Dade were advised not to accept positions can be taken as a sign of the way the wind will blow, has not Indicated what its answer will be to the application for anroval of dates and racing officials. The opening date set by Mr. Butler is just a week away from tomorrow and not a few people arc. getting anxious over the situation. The rumor that L. A. Cella and J. L. Rhinock are interested with Mr. Butler in the track is again being persistently circulated and this time It comes through channels which lead to men close in the councils of the Jockey Club. Messrs. Cella and Rhinock deny the rumor with much stress. Jockey Lee Holds World's Record: No Other Rider Has Won a Card of Six Races-the Records Complete JOCKEY LEE HOLDS WORLD'S RECORD. No Other Rider Has Won a- Card of Six Races The Records Complete. In riding the winners of the entire card of six races at Churchill Downs, Louisville, Ky., June -3, 1007, James Lee, the colored jockey under contract to J. B. Kcspcss, of Cincinnati, 0., established a world's record. The chronicles of racing in America and England show that only three other jockeys ever rode as many as six winners In one day, and, oddly enough, on each occasion the cards embraced more than sis races. George Fordham, the celebrated English jockey, who scored his first win on Hampton In 1S31, and Ills lat ou Bragg In 1883, was, on the authority of London Sporting Life, the first to ride sis win ners in one day. It was at the Iilbury Club mooting at Stockbridge prior to 1873. There were seven races on the card. Fordham rodo in all of them. In one, however, there was a' dead heat, and his mount was defeated in the run-off. Fordham died October 12, 1SS7. Fred Archer, the most successful jockey in English turf history, who scored his first triumph on Athol Daisy in 1S70 and his last on Iilanchland at Newmarket, Friday, October 20, 1SS0, was the second to ride six winners in one day. He did it at Lewes, August 7, 1SS2. There were seven races on the card, but he had no mount in the last one. Fred Archer committed suicide November S, 1SSG. During his career he rode 2,7-lS winners. The next and only other to accomplish the feat was "Monk" Overtoil, the colored rider, who had his heyday in the latter eighties and early nineties, and who, since Lee's achievement, has returned to the saddle in a vain attempt to prove that he is "not down and out." Overton rode six winners at Washington l'ark, Chicago, July 10, 1S01. There were seven races on the card. He won the first, had no mount in the second, and took the last live, including the Maiden. Stakes, which was won by Eastin & Larabie's Poet Scout. Eleven other jockeys have the distinction of having won the full card, but in each instance there were live races or less on the program. Stoval twice won a card of four races, and George Covington won one of four races and another of three races. Forty-four American jockeys have ridden five winners in one day, but in all save eleven instances they had mounts in six or seven races. The record for live winners out of live mounts belongs to Walter Miller, now the foremost rider in America. He has accomplished this three times. At Kenning, April 13, 1000, Miller rode the winners of the last live races, and the following day was the pilot of the winners of the lirst three races, making eight successive victories, which Is a record in this country. At Harlem September 7 and S, 1000, W. Buchanan rode nine winners out of eleven mounts, but his victories were not consecutive. Instances of four winners- ridden in one day In this country are too Humorous to mention. In response to Daily Kacing Form's request for the records of the principal feats in jockeyship in England, the editor of London Sporting Life sent the following: George Fordham rode six winners in one day at the Bihury Club meeting at Stockbridge. In another race that day he rode a dead heat, but his mount was beaten in the run-off. Fred Archer rode six successive winners at Lewes August C, 1SS2; live winners at Chester, 1SS3; four, including one walkover, in succession at Manchester, May 10, 1SS3; five in sucession and two losers at Windsor, May 24, 1SS4; four In succession and two losers at Manchester, Juue 3, 18S4; six in succession, including a dead heat and a walkover at Blbury Club (Stockbridge), in 1884. S. Cliaudley rode live winners in succession, all of his mounts, at the Pontefract (Yorkshire), Summer Meeting, July G, 1803. 1 J. Tod Sloan, the American jockey, rode live winners in succession at Newmarket September 30, 1S0S. There were seven races that day. He was beaten in the lirst and seventh. Of the live winners lie rode, three were bred by P. Lorillard and ran in the colors of Lord W. Beresford. C. Trigg rode five of the six winners at Edi-bnrgh, October 3, 1002, and live' out of six winners at Worcester, October 25, .100G. In both instances his winners were successive. T. Loates won with all of his live mounts at Windsor, May 2, 180G, and his brother, S. Loates, finished second to him in four of those races. Denham's Splendid Performance: Canadian Colt Runs Mile in 1:38 4-5 in Win Ning the Buffalo Selling Stakes DENHAM'S SPLENDID PERFORMANCE. Canadian Colt Runs Mile in 1:38 4-5 in Winning the Buffalo Selling Stakes. Buffalo, N. Y., July 27. In the Buffalo Stakes at Fort Erie today the Ilendrie colt, Denham, showed that he is one of the fastest horses ever bred in Canada. He won in a canter by eight lengths from .Taeonio, Nat B., Polly Prim and Halbard and ran the mile in 1:38 j, truly a remarkable performance for a three-year-old at this track. Denham showed great speed at all stages and opened a winning lead before they had gone a furlong. The first half mile was covered in 48 and the three-quarters in 1:12. The result was never in doubt. Polly Prim, the odds-on favorite, was outrun all the way. The race had a guaranteed value of $1,500, the winner's portion of which was $1,150. Lord Dixon, in defeating Woolstone after a furious drive in the seventh race, saved the poolrooms and handbooks throughout the country a drubbing. Supine, which finished fourth in, the.. sixth race, was another heavily backed horse that failed. A rough trip ruined Supine's chances. Only three favorites won. The betting was heavy and the ring reaped ricli profits. Allie Gates, acting for D. Hutchinson, has purchased of H. T. Griflin the two-year-old Green Dale by Allan-a-Dale. Six of the horses which J. B. Respess shipped to Kenilworth from Latonia were transferred over to Fort Erie tills afternoon. F. Liliby arrived from Latonia today with six jumpers, including Peter Keeker, Orthodox and Dell Lentil. They will be raced at Fort Eric and then shipped on to Montreal to take part in the fall meeting at Blue Bonnets. Sal tram, the two-year-old lilly which Al. Weston purchased of K. T. Wilson, Jr., a few days ago, won at the lirst time of asking for her now owner when she beat Shirley K. out a head in the sixth race today. Koine Kespess reports .that his good eolt, Joe Moser, Is ou the mend. The sickness of . this youngster will probably force Kespess to change plans. It was his intention to send a half dozen horses to Saratoga, but he will probably stop hero until the opening of tiio Montreal meeting. Farrell Pays $3,600 for Blandy FARRELL PAYS $3,600 FOR BLANDY. Sixty-Three Futurity Eligibles: Complete List, with Owners, Breeding and Performances of Such as Have Raced SIXTY -THREE FUTURITY ELIGIBLES. Complete List, with Owners, Breeding and' Performances of Such as Have Raced. Although not much discussed as yet,-the Futurity undoubtedly occupies a large place in the miuds of those who own cligibles and trainers are now anxiously pointing their selected ones with n view to having them in perfectly ripe condition when the day for the big race arrives. August 31 is not so very far away, barely a month. That month will be tilled in with the Saratoga meeting. Usually that meeting is replete with Futurity pointers, and there, is every indication that similar highly Interesting revelations will attend its progress this year. The last Futurity declarations were made July 15, and were so extensive that but sixty-three elig-ililes remain, an unusually small number for this big race, but ample to furnish a field up to the precedents of the event. So far as developed form Is concerned, the supremacy of Colin is so well established that the point of present curiosity is in what measure Saratoga racing is destined to bring to light worthy 'opponents for him. In the Whitney string are three magniticently bred representatives of Hamburg that have yet to start. They are Burgher, bay colt, dam Hurly Burly; Jersey Lightning, chestnut lilly, dam Daisy F., and Yorkville Beau, chestnut colt, dam Yorkville Belle. It Is hoped they will show In public at Saratoga. M. L. Schwartz also has a "dark" son ot Hamburg Peg Wollington called Pomander, that is carded to make his lirst start tomorrow. Nothing has been heard so far concerning "the merits, or otherwise, of John Sanford's two-year-olds. His youngsters always begin their racing careers at Saratoga. His Futurity candidates this year arc Chief Brant, chestnut colt, by Clifford Ballyroe, a full brother to the fast marc Molly Brant; Fort Johnson, bay colt, by Chuctanunda White Frost and Onatossa, chestnut colt, by Isidor Rockwatcr. They are well engaged in Saratoga stakes and their running there will bo closely watched. . In the chestnut colt Peter Quince it has been long rumored that Mr. Keene has another sou of Commando equal to holding his own with Colin. He will probably be kept for the Futurity to save maiden allowances, although that has not heretofore been- a feature o the stable's policy. Altogether, of the sixty-three youngsters left in July 15, twenty-six are yet to go to the post and of these, in addition to those already referred to, Anonyma, Bonnie Star, Carrollton, Duke of Roanoke and Raquel are so choicely bred as to suggest captivating possibilities. Winn of the Louisville organization, are expected to have a meeting here 'Monday or Tuesday for the purpose of agreeing upon ;a schedule of fall dates to be presented to the State Racing Commission for its action. The probabilities are that the racing will begin here late ;in September. Louisville will follow and the season will end at Latonia. Cincinnati, 0., July 27. Harvey Myers, vice-president of tlie Latonia Jockey Club, returned from :Nev York yesterday. He said: "I do not think ithere will be any trouble coming to an understanding ;as to fall dates. There has been nothing done except to talk over the situation. The Latonia Jockey !Club can shake hands with itself that the meeting was not extended, in view of the excessively hot jweatber Ihat has prevailed since the gates were closed. We expect to have a splendid fall meeting, 'and tliis will serve the public and the horsemen .better than if we had been granted a coutinuan.ee." Fort Erie Entries FORT ERIE ENTRIES. With one more -week of racing the Brighton .Beach mid-summer meeting will come to a close, in tlie course of the week six stake races will be decided, winding up with the $15,000 Brighton !l)erby. The Glencove Handicap, for which the .names of tlie probable starters are published else-!where in this issue, is die main feature for tomorrow. It is a six furlong sprint for three-year-!ohls and should prove interesting. The Nautilus Stakes, a selling dash of a mile and a sixteenth for three-year-olds and over will be run Tuesday. Molcsey, Bad News. Athlete, Hyperion II., Prehension, Angler, Yorkist, Orphan Lad, Red Friar, ;St. Valentine, Rapid Water, Tony Faust, Confederate, Security, Dashaway, Tipping, Belcast, Martin jDoyle, Acrobat, Dolly Spanker and Monfort are Itlie horses that will furnish a good field. The Sunshine Stakes for two-year-olds is the feature of Wednesday. It is a dash of five and a half furlongs, and Blaeksheep, Half Sovereign, King Sol, Magazine, Nimbus, Live Wire, Notasuiga, lihillo, Golden Pearl, Sepoy, Restigouche, Trouble-isonie, Ormuz, Spooner, Heknows, Woodlane, Creation and Sanguine are prominent among tlie eligibles. The Invincible Handicap will be run Thursday afternoon. It is at a mile and a quarter 'with $7,500 added, and Is an important event. Nearly all tlie Brighton Handicap horses are nominated, although Peter Pan is not. Dr. Gardner is top weight at 120 pounds, but tlie horses most likely to furnish tlie field are Nealon, 124; Dandelion, US; Ballot, 117; Cottontown, 117; Gallavant, 113; Tangle, 112; Fountainblue, 110; Tony Faust, 109; Cairngorm, 109; Far West, 10S; Ironsides, 10S; Arcite, 107; Wexford, 100; Good Luck, 104; 'Faust, 99, aud Coy Maid, 95. A cracking good race Is in prospect here. Tlie Winged Foot Handicap for two-year-olds at 'three-quarters of a mile, and the Brighton Derby for three-year-olds at a mile and a half, will be tlie chief attractions of tlie final day of the meet ing, Saturday, August 3. Principal of the Winged Foot nominees are Cliapultcjiee, Golden Pearly Frizette, Meelick, King James, Ben Fleet, Wood-lane, Half Sovereign, Live Wire, Master Robert, Zagg, Riallo, Hessian, Seymour Beutler, Ziephen, Harcourt, Falcada and Alauda. Tlie Derby has been reduced to twenty-three eligibles by declarations, but Peter Pan, Frank Gill and Charles Edward are left In, and if only the three are sent to tlie post a glorious race should result. In fact, outside of Yankee Girl, it is difficult to perceive any reason why any of tlie other eligibles should be started. Hickory, Paumonok aud Saracinesca being best of these, and all held safe by the formidable trio first named. It has not been the custom to waste time with Charles Edward, and if he is cnt loose from tlie start Frank Gill and Peter Pan will not be slow in following, so a record-breaking Derby may result. The fastest so far run is that of 1904, when Ort Wells won in , 2:325. Telegraphic Form TELEGRAPHIC FORM. The Jockey Club's rules of racing, that is the three rules which were modified by the State Racing Commission at its meeting in New York last Wednesday, were adopted prior to the enactment of the Percy-Gray law ami the fact that they seemed to give to the Jockey Club powers which properly belonged to the State Racing Commission had not become potent until the Empire City Trotting Club set up its claim for recognition this year. Those rules specified that a "license" from the Jockey Club was necessary to the accomplishment of certain things In racing. The state law Invests the licensing power in the Racing Commission. Hence ! the commission substituted "approval" for "license" in the rules, which now read as follows: Rule 1, paragraph 2. A meeting neld with the approval of the Jockey Club, or if held in any por tion of the United States over which the Jockey Club does not exercise jurisdiction, or in Canada, under the sanction of any turf authority whose jurisdiction over racing of any nature is recognized by ,the Jockey Club, and which enforces the forfeit list of the Jockey. Club and of such recognized associations, and which also gives effect to sentences Imposed by these authorities upon persons guilty of fraudulent practices on the turf. Rule S, paragraph 1. The stewards of the Jockey Club shall have power at their discretion to grant and withdraw approval to racing associations to conduct recognized meetings, and to grant and withdraw licenses to trainers and jockeys. Rule S, paragraph 2. The appointment of the bandieapper. clerk of the scales, starter and judge or judges, forfeit clerk and all minor racing officials shall be made by them, excepting upon courses which are provided for In Part VI., Rule 23a. Rule 23a. With all applications for approval to conduct a recognized meeting the names of all individuals who are to act as officials of the meeting must be submitted to and approved by the stewards of the Jockey Club before such sanction is granted. Page 6 Dandelion at the Top of His Form: Story of a Good Breadwinner in F. R. Hitchcock's Stable-His Engagements DANDELION AT THE TOP OF HIS FORM. Story of a Good Breadwinner in F. R. Hitchcock's Stable His Engagements. Dandelion, winner of the Seashore Handicap at Brighton Beach yesterday, Is t the top of his form right now, and it would be well to give him serious consideration for his August engagements. They are the Invincible Handicap, which is to be run at Brighton Beach next Thursday: the Saratoga Handicap, August 25; the Merchants' and Citizens' Handicap, August 20, and the Champlaln Handicap, August 20, the last named three being at Saratoga. In three of these races, the Invincible, the Saratoga and the Champlaln Dandelion was victorious hist year. The majority of his victories have been achieved at Brighton Beach and Saratoga. There Is no doubt that he likes these courses better than any over which he has raced, and the Saratoga track seems to suit him even better than that at Brighton. He is a late summer and early fall Itorse, racing best in August and September. Dandelion is a live-year-old chestnut horse by Hamburg I'ansy, by St. Blaise, and was bred by l- K. Hitchcock, who still owns him and whose colors he has carried in all of his lifty-one races. John 13. Madden, at whose farm in Kentucky Dandelion was foaled, has been his trainer since he was broken as a yearling in the fall of 100.?. Dandelion is a well-finished horse ot medium size, and in head and markings resembles his sire closely, having a blaze face and both hind legs white. His height is alHuit fifteen hands three inches, and in racing condition his weight approximates 1,000 pounds. He never gets high in tlesh and few horses sue more easily conditioned for a race. A great deal of work is necessary to put him on edge. He has a perfect disposition; is gentle and tractable and never fretful. The only time lie has ever been known to exhibit any nervousness was the night following his fall in the Commonwealth Handicap at Sheepshead Bay, July 7, WOO. He walked his stall that night and refused to eat, but the next day he had quieted down. There is no oddity or eccentricity in his makeup. flandelion is a courageous horse, and the use of the whip is not necessary to make him put forth his best efTorts. This season he has not extended himself as generously in the early stages of his races as was a trait witii him the previous three years. This may be because he is more staid and Is iiecoihing wiser with his advancing years. There has never been anything the matter with his feet. He races in the regulation plates and has a long, free stride. While lie has won over a heavy track and in the slop, he runs best on a fast track. Dandelion's lirst victory came in his third start, which was in a race for maiden two-year-olds at Brighton Beach July (i, 1!M)1. He ran the live and a half furlongs in 1:07s, beating Broadcloth, Dreamer and others. After ten defeats he won a condition race at Brighton Bench September 1, live and a half furlongs in 1:07. This was followed by four defeats and then came his victory in the licmscu Handicap at Jamaica, November 2, live and a half furlongs in 1:00$, with Gamarn and I'asadcna next behind Iiini. He was shipped to Bcniiiug to make his next and last start of the year in the Crand Consolation Stakes November 1!), which ho won from Oxford, Camara and rasadena, running the seven-eighths of a mile in 1 :l!T. He was defeated eight limes as a three-year-old before lie won the Travel's Stakes at Saratoga, running the mile and a quarter in 2:08, with 111 pounds, up. Next lie was unplaced in the Great l!e-public ami closed his season by winning the Sara-nac Handicap, a mile and an eighth in 1:KJ with 110 pounds. He won his second start as a four-year-old, it being a handicap at one mile and a sixteenth .'it Belmont Dark, May 15. His weight was ll'.l pounds and the time l:l(ij. Tills was followed by four defeats, including his fall in the Commonwealth Handicap, and next he took the Invincible Handicap, one mile and a quarter, over a heavy track at Brighton Beach August 2, in 2:00ii, defeating Coy Maid, Coderstrome, Callavaut. Tokalon and others. He nlade t four straight victories by winning the Saratoga Handicap, August 0; the Delaware Handicap, August 11, and the Champlaiii Handicap, August :!0. In the Saratoga Handicap he was collided with Tangle and she finished second to hiin, the time for the mile and a quarter being 2:oii. a new track record. In that race Dandelion carried III! pounds. In the Delaware he had up 120 jdiiiiids and ran the mile in 1 :".$. In the Champlain he carried 120 pounds and ran the mile and an eighth in 1 :254. He was unplaced in the Twin City Handicap at Sheepshead Bay, but on September 10, won an overnight condition race for three-year-olds and upward, in which be carried 120 pounds and beat Ostrich, Peter Sterling, Wcs and others a mile and an eighth in 1 :r"i. After this he was defeated in two races at Gravesend and went into winter quarters. The lirst was an all age handicap, in which he was second to Coy Maid, and the other was the Occidental Handicap, also won by Coy Maid, in which he was unplaced. His victory yesterday was his second for this year out of live starts. The record of Dandelion's performances and winnings is as follows: Year. Age. Sts. 1st. 2d. lid. Unp. In 1005 Dishabille was handled by C. A. Mul-holland, who continued as her trainer until he severed his connection with the Bennett stable this spring. She won the Inaugural Handicap on the opening day at Delmar Park, Little Scout, her stable mate, finishing second to her in that event. Third to Jake Sanders and Invincible was the best Dishabille could do in the running ofl the Memorial Handicap, and was shortly afterward shipped to Buffalo, where she won the Ontario Handicap, and was second to Preen in the International. She won thirteen of her twenty starts In 1005. Her most important stake engagements last year were the Cataract, Myrtle, Long Island, Islip, Municipal, Twin City, Albemarle, Bronx Highweight, Fordliam and the Pierrepont, the first five of which she won. She was second to Dr. Gardner in the Bronx and to Belniere in the Pierrepont, and third in botli the Twin City and Albemarle. Her last race of the year was in the Soulhold Handicap at Jamaica in the fall, where she was fourth to Coy Maid, Dolly Spanker and Oxford. The breaking down of Dishabille at Fort Brio Monday marks the retirement of one of the most consistent racers of modern times. In truth this live year-old daughter of King's Counsel Night Gown was not far removed from the ideal racehorse. She won lifty per cent of the races in which she started; she could carry the weight and win at any distance, and no track had to be just so for her. She won over fast, sloppy, slow, muddy and heavy tracks east and west and north and south. It is regrettable she could not have gone into retirement before breaking down, but trainer Shannon admits that he. allowed las desire to have just one more set of brackets to her credit to prevail over his better judgment. She had for some time shown a slight bow in one tendon behind and Monday's happening was not surprising to those who were aware of this. i)ishab)lle was bred by George C. Bennett at Ills farm near Memphis, Tenn., and it is there that she is to go into the stud to be mated with cither Abe Frank or Intrusive. A union witli cither of these stallions should produce a thoroughbred of high quality. Dishabille ran all of her sixty-two races in Mr. Bennett's colors. She made her first start at Kinloch Park. St. Louis, April 10, 1004. finishing second to Miss Powell. She ran three races before scoring a victory, and her fifth, the Debutante Stakes, was the only one In which she finished outside of the money during the year. Dishabille was trained that year by "Mickey" Shannon, and ran all of her seventeen races at the three St. Louis tracks. She won the Junior Cham Brooklyn Stakes to Close BROOKLYN STAKES TO CLOSE.
