generally conceded that a major ity of tho delegates favored free and un- Â¬ limited coinage thero seemed to bo a faint hopo upon tho part of somo of the oppotltion that they would not under Â¬ take these resolutions there was a hot debate for a few minutes Parties in tho hall who were not dele Â¬ gates undertook to obtain the floor to debate the question but the Chairman promptly ruled them out of order unless the members of the Convention wonld consent to hear them Gen A J Gross rose to his feet and asked for five minutes time of the Con Â¬ vention A member moved thai Mr Gross be heard Mr Gross then gsvo it as liis opinion that tiro Convention should indorse G rover Cleveland and his administration Ho was opposed to the resolution offered before the body on money and thought it in bad taste to take any action on that question There were a half dozen men ready at onco to answer Gen Gross argument and sev- Â¬ eral men were on their feet at once Mr Murray vacated the chair and replied to Mr Gross argument In a few words and when the motion was taken on the adoption of tho resolution tho delegates were overwhelmingly in favor of it Tho silver resolution went through wltit a vim Mr R C Richardson moved to strike out tne lourtn resolution which was defeated Mr Richardson was a Clay man and Insisted on being heard in the Convention A motion was thon made to reconsider Mr Richardsons motion which was carried Then upon a voto of the Convention tho fourth resolution was stricken out and tho names of both Clay and Hardin placed before tho Con- Â¬ vention Tho Convention decided then
