Arrest Jacob Noble Grant Holliday was shot and instantly killed last Sunday afternoon by Jacob Noble out on the ridge road about two milos from here The particulars as far us we have been able to learn ore about as follows During the morning soine boys had had some little triyul trouble up the river above town In tho afternoon Jacob Noble and his brother Joro and some others of their friends went out on the hill about two miles from town where some boys woro shooting at chickens as a target Holliday learning of the boys being up there decided to Ko and arrest them andsummoned some parties to go and assist him some of whom advised him not to go but ho went and on arriving at the spot and his purpos being known Jacob Noble asked him to show his warrant and told him if ho had one ho was submis she but Ilolliday raised his gun and fired into Nobles face where upon Noble drew his revolver and shot Holliday killing him instant ly Noble was not badly hurt Ilolliday was born and raised in Perry county but several years ago moved to Morgan county twoIrcorsbusiness for awhile then in the mercantile business then in the logging business but for the past few weeks ho has been acting as a
