the indictments against Ilargis fire sustained it being held that ho may be convicted if ho was absent at the time the homicide was committed nnd was an accessory before tho fact to the murder and in Cockrill case from Fay citecountyIt bo safely declared as tho law in this Commonwealth that the principal actor tho aider and abettor and tho accessory before tho fact are all principals in tho first be concealed n slander given voice by the press can never bo fully overcome These facts make uyellow journnlism both contemptible and dangerous Jackson and Breathitt county have long been the victims of the yellow journalist Reporters willing and eager to make capital of others misfortunes have rushed slanderous reports into tho daily press and these false pictures have injured hundreds of honest law abiding citizens of this county To deny our dark pnst would be worse than folly There was n time when it was dangerous for an honest citizen to walk the streets of Jackson after nightfall That time is past and wo believe past foicvcr Tho people of this county as a class are lawabiding honest and intelligent They have thrown off that dark mysterious power that once held BrcAjhiit fast and they deserve the credit Yet the yellow reporter would cause tho world to thinkcondi tions herowero worse than ever before One example sufficient When Judio Crimes returned here on last Friday two men came up town with him one man accom panied him to tho train when ho left The reporter stated that a scowling crowd followed tho Judge about in a threatening manner He further epoko of tho ceiling of popular de mand for justice in the courts Nothing but failure to obtain the same will ever drive our people to violenceA newspaper should discharge any reporter who indulges in overdrawn pictures and
