when this committee met it found that one candidate had carried enough pre ciucts to insure his nominator Then to thwart the will of the pet pre as expressed this chairman and these members of tho committee all of whom wore delegate to this convention refused to hoh1 a convention but declared that it was their purpose in fact their office to constitute themselves n comparing board and to hear roo ports rumor from the county as to the number who participate in the precinct mass meetings between these two candidates The result was that theAo10 whom tho people chose accofhagto the call was denied thq nnd tho one the people rejected was given the place on the ballot At the same time there was n vacancy in tho office of sheriff an jailer There was no pretense mad to nominate a candidate for eithc of these offices in fact there was a refusal on the part of the committee to make provisions for the nomination of a candidate for cither of these offices yet the name of a candidate for each of thcso offices was given a place upon the ticket The party emblem was ap propriated by tho committee with out tho knowledge or consent and we might say against tho will of the rank and file of the party The famous midnight conven tion of two years ago is still too fresh in the minds of our read ers The partys emblem was again appropriated tho cry of tho people was ignored their will for tho
