understand ing of our labors and hoping to arouse a greater interest for the cause of education Now Therefore We the Public School Teachers of Wolfe county Kentucky in Institute at Campton assrablcd do publish the following resolutions- 1st Resolved That we ap prove of the time plice and man tier of holding this institute and we extend to the citizens of the town of ampton our appreciation of the generosity and hospitality which they have extended to us while in their midst and we fur ther extnnd to them our thanks and appreciation for the interest they haro manifested in the at tendance thereof and for the val uable suggestions that many of them made during the sessions of our Institute 2nd Resolved That realizing the high responsibilities resting upon our worthy Superintendent and the many complex and intri cate questions arising before him for solution in appreciation of the happy and satisfactory manner in which he has met and disposed of every serious problem and discharged every duty we extend to him our unbounded gratitude and congratulations and we heartily approve especially of his wise and proper choice of an instructor for this institute 3d Resolved That we are de American States educationally andreal izing that every teacher and every citizen of the State has a big duty to perform in raising the standard oj education we believe it to be w tho bet interests of all and to be the surest and quickest method to Advance our educational interests among the people at large toI have enacted and enforced such a compulsory law as will force a uni form attendance in our public schools of all children between the ages of 6 and 14 years for at least three months regular attendance annually 6th Resolved That we hearti ly recommend an extension of the school term throughout the State six to seven months annual ly believing that the present per capitals reasanably sufficient to compensate the teacher for such extension 7th Resolved That being conscious of the great educational awakening throughout Kentucky we will put forth all our best ef forts to aid in the great education al movements and will do our ute nosh to advance the day and hour when intelligent
