lecture said That man has lone more by his lectures toward wiping out the factional feeling be uveen the states than has any oth er one man lie is a grand noble and patriotic man who has the respect of the men who fought on both sides ing the civil war All old soldiers Routs hear him About The Railroad Those who have laid aside their laily avocations to work for the rail road all honor to their publicspirit dness have been out nearly every day talking with the land owners and try ing to get the matter in tangibleshape Notwithstanding the fact that every body realizes the vast importance of Garrard county getting the road yet there are a few land owners who are unreasonable in their demands their damages they seem to lose sight of what benefits the road will be to them and the further fact that if they own a farm that what they save in advanced urices for pro ducts will in a short time more than triple what they nag lose in parting with a little strip of land This is a matter that should be viewed from all standpoints before one makes up his mind to what he wants Most of those dosed with are reasonable enough but there are a few cases where it will almost block the game We have to make up this money among ourselves not a dollar can be assessed and those able to give are few and far between Any man with good judgement real izes that this is Garrards last and on ly chance to get a rail road and why more citizens do not get out and work for it is one of the mysteries that can never be explained This is a move that will benefit every man woman and child in Garrard county and when the fact is so plain its difficult to how people can be luke warm toward it One can count on his tips the number of those who have been out after right of way and to solicit subscriptions Most people I cant get away Well maybe you honestly think so but if you close up whole week the sun will contin uc to shine the birds to sing and the grass to grow just the same as if you were sitting on your pants at place of business The truth of the matter is that every fellow is waiting for someone else to do the work If every fellow who knows how to be managed and entertains loafers with his gas would get out and work we would close up this matter in a short time But there is too much time wasted telling how to proceed other words too many bosses and not enough workers The time for action
