acquaintances of the young man He was the eldest son of Mr C M Norris and for years resided in Lancaster His parents removed to Frankfort a few years since and John remained here and clerked for R II Batson His health began to fail but he remained at work as long as he was able to get about and it was only on the urging of friends that he quit when he did and went to the home of his Frankfort Consumption was the trouble and when he once began to lose ground he never rallied He was to the last and believed until the end was near that he would get well The writer called to see him in Frankfort recently and as it was plain that he would never get well it was distressing to hear him tell of what he intended to do when he got able to come to as he said Home Everything that medical skill a loving mother and devoted father could do was done for his comfort The people of Frankfort he knew nearly every body there were particularly kind to him and he told us that he didnt see how he could ever repay the many acts of kindness which had been bestowed upon him John Norris was an excep florally bright boy He was and had no bad habits whatever He was well thought of by everybody especially the business men of the town The family have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in their great sorrow but they have great consolation in knowing that John had lived a life that is sure to win for him a crown in the great He was eighteen years of age and elected page in the Senate three times He was Assistant Sergeant at Arms of the present Senate The remains reached Lancaster gentlemen of scientific aims She was not so important a young either being a charity at a famous hospital where little ones of deformed limbs are Yet perhaps she was not so very poor a little there were two red ribbons tying up her brown hair and quite a wide lace about the neck of her dress Her mother carried her into the lecture room and placed her a high table and then left her to dangle her little bare legs until the lecturer should be ready to use her as an illustration The young person gazed thoughtfully about the room at the odd behind her and the students in front Neither proved of sufficient interest to retain her gaze and she presently devoted her attention to her mother nurses and a few other pitiful little ones in an adjoining room who were playing unconcernedly amid surroundings might have saddened them had been older The lecture was vividly interesting and the students looked at the little staid as they had perhaps looked at numerous other little maids with red bows and big brown eyes as merely a convenient deformity who made the lecturers words easier to understand They were not a particularly pleasant looking lot of young men clothes very badly and t was obvious that their paths had been rural and their bringingup Our little girl could not have told why was not approving of them eye for possible beauty You see gentlemen the lecturer went on the exactly opposite set of conditions occur in these two cases In the boys there is j vjrtts that is the foot curves in gently in his hand and moved it upwards here is taffies v lgiis the foot curves out piteously twisted limb in the doctors hand was a look about the childs little mouth which reminded him of some one whom he should see within a couple of hours They would dine together This was her birth day He would give her the bonbons he had chosen with such care and which he had now in his pocket He could see her delight over the unexpected revelations in the box It would be the first time she had been presented with her own initials on each sweet the tongs with tiny golf ing of violet babyribbon over the mauve and white candies The was of silver with a lid It was a love of a box and he felt justly proud of it He was in a hurry to see her eyes she opened it lecture was good of course but he should be glad when it was over A bored sigh from the little maid echoed his wish She was
