time some other nowyouseeitnowyoudont scheme was here Mark our prediction in less than a there will be the usual rush to get in on the ground floor and many of our people will put their money in to send out of the town where they never see nor hear tell of it again Lancaster is a great town in which to make money when you stop and think of the amount sent away in wild cat schemes every cent of which came off ofour people Put your money n some home enterprise where you know it will not instead of bowing and scraping to some glib tongned thief as has too often been done tryand help some home man If you want to get rid of your cash throw It to some man who will keep it in Lancaster Enough money has been sent away to pave the streets with gold and build business houses and residences forty stories high Its none of our business Well we think it is as sent out of the town hurts the poorer class just that much If yon want to help other localities pull up stakes and there make there If people would do half as much for Lancaster as they have done against we have the beet town in thestate word of this is gospel truth no one will deny sign is i at Stanford ftst JghU and wordf wars Iwve that the entire population Is very busy just at this time trying to make little clods out of big ones It is difficult dusty work The ground is baked as hard as a and it is probable there never were so many large bard clods to be seen in this part of the world before One man living in the suburbs says he planted his corn with a hatchet He did it by making little excavations in the earth with his axe dropping in then chopping up enough dirt to cover it For many days past loud detonations not unlike the made by the discharge of heavy artillery have been beard in a wester ly direction just beyond receipts and disbursements of all public monies be published in a newspaper In the county where such taxes are collected It all settlements with the sheriff be published as well as a detailed list of names to whom and for what it is so As stated above this has never been done in but a few of the counties in the state and never was done in Garrard save a list of claims allowed All electionjf directors of all corpor ations should be advertised in the newpapers and as this is seldom done any could up a legal racket with all of the corporations bHwnesa in the state The Press Association is having all laws codified a complete list of what the statutes require and propo sea to see that the tax payers and the public get a peep at the inside work ings of things and where their money goes Editor Lew Brown of the Bar rodsborg Democrat has been appoint ed a committee to do this work and will report at the meeting lnLexlBg ton Of course the will make something out of it but no will say that thetax payer hasnt the right to see where his money goes As stated abuve the custom has never been carried out not through any neglect of officiate but simply because the law never been generally Mr McIntyre is a splen did newspaper man and can dress down an item to a queens taste A printing office in Michigan is opened and closed with prayer Thats quite different from the custom Down here religious services being held in a school house remarks the Jessamine Journal The author of such a bill is worse than an infidel We do not be lieve in using a public school house for everything that
