to the propos ed new pike connecting the two citiesMt Sterling has sho ru an interest in Powell county and Clay City by contributing liber ally for bur new bridge and now they want to help make us a pike to that city There seems to us to be but one way to get this pro posed new road and that is for Montgomery county to finish the pike which is now completed to Levee on to the top of Black creek hill and then let the citi zens and business men of Mt Sterling construct the pike from the hill to Clay City In this way the road can be built and in our opinion no other The posi tion Mt Sterling makes is that we make the road to Black creekI hill We can never do this but ye can help A pike over the proposed route would be of more profit to Mt Sterling than the short line of railroad from Indian Fields to that cityand for which her busi ness jnen subscribed 25000 All we hstve to do is convince her TO ELLAl1JJl6 Ladies Winter Skirts Mens Ladies inter Shoes Ladies nice Trimmed Hats Mens
