of Kentucky before a Democratic Legislature the Republicans held to the offices by military force after Goobel had been murdered claiming they had been robbed A similar occurrence has just been finished in Colorada ex cept in this case it is i Democrat whose majority was four times greater than was the Republicans in Kentucky is robbed of the Governorship by a Republi can Legislature How much more decent and gentlemanly does Gov Alva Adams the Democrat of Colorada submit to tile decision of the State Legislature than did W S Taylor of Ken tucky It might also be stated that Mr Adams remains at home in his state and without the charge ofumirder hanging against him Taylors Trial The mock trial of W S Taylor at Des Moines results in a hung ju ry with a jury upon which there was only one Democrat Taylor from his exile in Indiana sent an extended argument in his own defense The jury deliberated eight hours As the jury was made up of law students young men with more than average
