Growing For years the TIMES has advo cated the idea of our farmers en gaging in that kind of business that is best adapted to their land and other general conditions andnothing pays better than growing strawberries In the southern portion of the State where the land is no better than in this county the farmers plant ed GOO acres in strawberries in one neighborhood and recently a Cincinnati man purchased the entire acreage of strawberries at 100 per aero and the purchasers do the gathering This pays far above corn tobacco or any other crop now grown in this section Death to Cattle We have noticed in some of our exchanges accounts of ninny cattle being poisoned and dying from eating buckeye The tim ber has no commercial value whatever and it seems that farm ers would avoid a great risk of loss to stockby cutting and killing out all the buckeye on their places It should also be remembered that wild cherry tree leaves where cut and allowed to wilt and eat en by cattle is also
