special tax levy to pay bffihese bonds after long litigation the counties lost the case The court ordered a tax levied and the counties to pay the debt This they refused to do and an attachment of some goods belonging to Olive Hill merchant was issu ed and the goods removed from his store to be sold for tax to payoff these bonds The night before the sole was to have been made 1000 or more of the best citizens of Carter and Elliott counties entered the town of 01 ive Hill seized the goods levied oh for the tax and returned them to their rightful owner and fired volley after voley in the
