balloon race For some time contests of this kind have been quite a fad among the European aristocracy At one or two points in the north in this coun try they have been successfully carried on but for the first time in the south a balloon race will be conducted at the Kentucky State Fair to lie held in Louis yule SeptemberlO to 21 Con structed cwpMftly for racing purposes al in charge of a competent operator this fea ture of the big amusement pro pram of the Kentucky State Fair can not help but prove a great attractionThe to be used during week of September 10th at Louisville are exactly the same size They will be released simultane ously and will ascend to a height that takes them into an air cur rent when the race will begin Ballasts of sand and the skillof the operator will decide the con test For a time the balloons will naturally be neckand neck as it were then the oper ator who is most familiar with air currents and the manipulation of the ballasts will succeed ill forging ahead of his opponent- At any rate the race should prove as exciting as a speed con test on Mother Earth Notice All persons knowing them selves indebted toJDrLittlepngo for medical treatment
