monthly report ofcrop in Kentucky for the month of June as compiled by Commissioner of Agriculture Rankin is given to the public this week The report is as fol lows There has been an unusual a mount of rainfall so much BO that many farmers have been greatly hindered in their work In many sections it hue been too wet to plow and weeds are grow ing very rapidly A great deal of ground was not ready forthe crops atplanting time on account of so much rain The greater part of the wheat crop has been cut but some re mains yet uncut owing to the un favorable weather At this time last year all of the wheat had been cut and threshing had com menced The drouth of last fall paused a smaller acreage of wheat sown alldalso hindered its growth The State entomologist reports the appearance of scale and many perspns report rust and blight owing to wet weath erThe largest acreage of corn has been planted in Kentucky that has been planted for years with the possible exception of 1008 then due in a large measure to the cutting out of the 1008 to bacco crop This year all corn has been planted in good time and the prospects are for a very large crop Last years oat crop was a complete failure but the prospects this year are for alarge yield and good crop No traces of rust have been reported so tar More alfalfa is being planted each year and the crop is bong better understood than ever bo fore Ttlurriors ea rin1efit ing ihd are learning that this ia the beatpaying crop almost that can be raised on the farm The condition of alfalfa is splendid The first cutting was inadeiiiMay and many crops have been clipped the second time Prospects are that five cuttings will be obtained from alfalfa this year in many sections of the State Bettor prospects are for clover at this time than has been fQr years although little late Horses mules and hogs are soiling Cattle are selling about the usual price with an increase in numbers over lust yea- rKimbre1I reaching at Kirnbrelle Chapel next Sunday
