which shatters his reason Swift takes advantage of this to secure absoluto control of the mill owners property and represent- ¬ ing to the family that Garrison was on the verge of bankruptcy when stricken down coerces the daughter Helen Garrison into a promise of marriage Roxy who has been living at Slaxville Tavern in the care of Squire Hazlitt but is now at Garri- ¬ sons city jjhomo discovers the plot of Swift and his accomplice Jim Rich to find and destroy the docu- ¬ ment made out by Garrison before his illness which would give1 Roxy her rightful fortune Swift and Jim are going to the Iron Works at ten oclock that night to find the paper having reason to believe that Garri- ¬ son concealed it in the office Roxy contrives to imprison Jim who is tipsy in a room and visits the Iron Works in his stead where with the aid of Hy Hazlitt the Squires son and her faithful adorer she hopes to discover the document before Swift comes Swift has insured the Iron Works for their full value and has resolved to blow up the buildings with a dynamite bomb believing that the employes who have threatened a strike will be charged withthe crime He arrives discovers Roxy and Hy and a series of startling situations follow one another in rapid succes- ¬ sion culminating when Swift after looking Hy in the office drags Roxy into tho engine room and tying her on one of the huge revolving bolts sets a monster steam engine in motion The belt begins to revolve and Roxy is borne upward in the air toward certain death in the whirling At this moment Hy wheels beyond succeeds in battering down the heavy door stops the engine and tears Roxy from the fatal band just in time to save her life The last act depicts the attempted poisoning of the paralyzed Garrison by Swift the marriage of Swift to Helen which is onnortunolv interrupted by Roxy the complete unmasking of the villain and final restoration of Garrison to reason and Roxy to fortune SHILOHS CATARRH REMEDY cure
