establishment of n newspaper in this city and as a preliminary step has given circulation to the report that the Roundabout was about dead that its circulation has vanished and the paper amounted to but little 4Veare sorry to hear this as we had no idea it was quite so bad But we want to state a few facts for the information of the gentle man who is so anxious to fill the longfelt want towitThe Roundabout made its first appearance September 20 1877 and since 4that time has witnessed the pass ing of seventeen newspapers daily semiweekly weekly and monthly while it has never missed an issue Some of these papers wore started with the avowed purpose of running the Roundabout out of town preach ingits funeral etc They abused it and hired canvassers who went put into the county and tried to get its subscribers by misrepresen tation Well we are here yet but where are the other fellows It may be also mentioned as a fact that no paper hits ever been tstarted in Frankfort since the establishment of the Roundabout that is alive today which is not printed in the Roundabout office Some of the papers mentioned were established by old experienced newspaper men industrious news gatherers and got out good papers but they had not money to burn and went away sorrowful Now if our ambitious friend wants to sail in the way is open and the rathole yawning for his wealth Rheumatism L McExvun pastor of the Third Presbyterian Church Pittsburgh Pa took place Sunday March 10th in the cemetery at Frankfort Ky To those who assembled at the little station to await the com ing of the train which bore the mortal remains of one who was known and loved of all in Frankfort the occasion was one of tonderest sorrow They did not meet to do honor to the wife of the faithful and beloved pastor to the devoted helpmate of Gods minister That sweet and touching tribute had been paid by those among whom she had spent the last years of her life whose thoughtful kindness and loving consideration had left undone not one thing which could have added to the comfort and brightness of her sickroom Here was a different note a sense of personal love and loss Those who bore her to the ter race overhanging the winding river Inhere sleep her own be loved dead were the elders of the Church where she had received the companions of her radiant girlhood the tried friends of her maturer years They were her mothers friends her fathers kindred her hus bands people and all these Inv eri her The simple services- were soon over There was a prayer frpm one who hud known her from girlhood whose voice was husky with emotion a pus sage from Gods word beautiful voices lifted in melody flouted up to Heaven on the wings of the wind and there under a bed of flowers whose fragrance was like her own sweet spirit with Gods sunlight chining over nil we left her to await the Resur rection mornF B Richmond Ky is hanlworhwithotGo1dflusJt rlr1YnovuwonxIsat eveningSouthern RailwayInformation
