Monday morning while Mr Will Mitchell the engineer at the Old Taylor Distillery was at work near the strum pump a Hue collapsed throwing the hot water and steam all over him literally cooking him to death Mr Mitchell was alone at the tinWnnd was not discovered for some time after the accident occurred As soon as the awful discovery was made Mr Mitchell was taken to his home near by and Drs 0 B Demaree Dorsie Roemolo and Coblin were summoned and did everything possible to relieve the sufferings of the young man He lingered until about 12 oclock m when death came to his relief Mr Mitchell was the son of Mr Robt Mitchell aged about 20 years was an industrious upright and honorable young man popu lar with all who knew him The funeral services were con ducted from the family residence on Tuesday by Rev Dr lL B Adams after which the remains were laid away The whole community is filled with sorrow at the death of this worthy young man He was a great favorite on account of his genial and manly character We tender to the terribly bereft family our sincerest sympathy- IMPROVEMENTSr AT THE POSTOFFICE In order to afford better accommodations to the public and avoid the congestion in the crowd at the carriers window at the Postoflice Postmaster Geo L Barnes has had a section of the lock boxes taken out and a door put in against the north wall of the lobby for the use of the clerks
