chiarinnu and resulted iu the so lection of Jesse P Morris of Mor gan county through tho bolting of one of tho delegates front Morgan county Only one ballot was taken on Thursday and the convention then adjourned until Friday morning at 8 oclock Just after the convention convened on Friday morning Mr Childers allowed himself to bo persuaded to quit the Taco much to the chagrin oi many of his constituents and Judge Perry also withdrew Tint loft Mr Wheeler and Mr Morris in the race with the combined forces of Childors and Perry against Wheeler who hail 22 votes and required only four more to elect But the delegate front Morgan who bolted instructions settled the race in favor of Mr Morris by a frac tion loss than a half vote Tho precinct ho represented gave Mr Perry live votes and Mr Wheeler 15 with tho delegate instructed to east the whole vote for Wheeler if Perry withdrew and vice versa This ho refused to do by giving a fraction of the vote to Morris which elected Mr Morris made a neat little speech in accepting tho nomination told is in the race with the support of all the candi dates following and all the demo cratic voters in the two counties Jesse Morris is a
