few invited guests Monday evening at the home of one of its members Willie Myrtle in honor ot Misses Hroma and Anna Ballowi Bard well guests Misses Ivans and Martin All had a nice time The year 1906 has been a remark able one and a recordbreaker In a great many respect It is claimed have been the most prosperous one in the history of the country and if we ridge from the car shortage it must have blow for evidently the railroads have been offered more freight to carry than ever before At the some time this scarcity of cars has been a seious detriment to business here in Hickman for at least throefourths of the crop is still In the hands of the farmers and as a result merchants have enormous stocks of goods on band unsold which would have been sold had the crops been turned into money sooner Especially is this the case with one house in town who have been com polled to move into two rooms the themeheretofore In four room This fearfully cramps them for room BrosrI and far this reason they have decided to begin on Saturday January 12 the most remarkable sale Hlok 1man has yet had We say remark able because the satire stocks will literally be thrown on the market itrinto money Another reason for the sacrifice of their goods and a most powerful factor Iis that they are compelled from necessity to turn a large proportion of their tocks lute money quick and that can only be done by sacrificing it for what it will bring And through that necessity prices will be made such as Hickman never dreamed of and for that reason we say it will be the most remarkable in its history The sale will begin promptly on andewe would advise our readers not to buy anything until that time but to willeinclude everything they carry Full particulars will be given in next weeks paper
