vote is taken for Senator The tow boat Sprague has estab lished a new record for inland water ways in the west The Sprague passed Hickman a few days ago towing sixty barges of coal from Louisville to New Orleans The total number of bushels of coal is 1500000 The tow is 160 feet long and 361 feet wide The Spra gue is the largest tow boat on the western waters The coal came from Pittsburg- H The Rogers while resisting arrest and died two hours later from his wound Conley was charged with bootleg ging and a warrant for his arrest had been issued by the Circuit Court of Mississippi county Missouri DeputSheriffdid not try to make the arrest for Conley knew that King was an offi escapeAccordinglys and John Pickett to go with him The two latter gentlemen approached Conley and under the ruse of wanting t trade guns managed toI get possession of his 44 Colts Stilll unsuspecting with whom he wasI dealing Conley told the officersI that he had a 38 Special but didI not care to trade it About thi time the Steamer Sadie Lee whistle- for I the landing and Conley told the I officers he was going off on the boa- and would have to run out to the landing and flag her HI started but at this
