was soon after the Lawrenceburg speaking that Hon Harvey Helm Lin coIn countys favored and favorite son shied his castor in the ring and from the very start it looked as if ho were a winner Judge Hughes had a severe spell of sickness but got up and contin ued his canvass He found himself too weak however to continue the fight and at Shelbyville last Monday Chas M Lewis one of his lieutenants an pounced his withdrawal from the race This leaves Mr Helm alone in the field and of course with only one candidate it will be needless to go through thee form of a primary While rejoicing over Mr Helms good fortune the IN TERIOR JOURNAL feels a profound sympathy for those gentlemen who were compelled by ill health to quit the race and for the widow and son at Rich I mond whose loss is
