plentiful that we passed them by as if they were sparrows During the day I am sure wo passed at least 100 conies As I sat around our campfiro at noon and night making coffee my mind wandered back to boyhood days when Leather Stocking was a hero in my mind Truly memories of the past flooded my wandering mind and I ex perienced for the first time tho feeling that comes to a person when they are far away from civilization Tho chirp of the cricket almost made mo feel lonesome tho birds overhead seemed to bo excited and wished we had not dis turbed their solitude The silence at times was oppressive UNLESS figures lie Gov J C W Beckham has been nominated for Uni ted States Senator his majority reach ing 5000 or 6000 Fighting njrainst great odds and having such a grand old war horse as his 10000000 of Java come into the United Sates markets each year From this amount of the actual Mocha and Java a blend of 50 times as large has been made From these figures It is evident that the Coffee drinkers will be interested in seeing the puroI food law perfected and enforced until such frauds cannot be perpetrated If the Brazillian berry is as good as the Java and Mocha berries blended ordered Mr Kennedy off of the premises we are told Tho lat ter told Estes that ho did not know ho was on his premises and it is said apologized to Fates for being there The shooting begun at that juncture Kennedy claiming Estes shot at him twice before ho fired at all Estes fell during the firing and shot once or twice from tho ground From what we can gather nine shots were fired Fates pis tol knocking out his teeth breaking the jaw bono and lodging in the back of his head Ills suffering was intense until death came to his relief Mr Estea made the following statement just before his soul entered the great beyond lor dered him meaning Kennedy off of my premises and he stepped out on the pavement and said I am here He fired first There are conflicting reports as to which fired first and it will probably not be definitely known until Mr Ken nedys trial After giving himself up to Marshal Riddle that officer and Dep uty Sheriff E 0 Gooch brought Mr Kennedy to this place on the 217 train and he Is now in jail The grand jury will very probably Indict him this term and there may be no examining trial Doth Kennedy and Estes are married men the former having one childand tho latter six
