oirats indorses the national nominee and platform without equivocation and pledges the electoral vote of Tennesse to Bryan and Kern On the liquor question it takes the position that there shall be no backward step and that the laws shall be extended to cover cities not now under their operations whenever the people of the cities affected so declare at the ballot box Another clause favors the revocation of cense whenever the present laws are violated Another plank urges that all executions take place in secret in the main prison at Nashville It is also suggested that more good time be allowed convicts working in the State mines that provision be made for tat jag care of disabled convict that a convict parole system be established and that a tuberculosis hospital be erected at the main prison PRESIDENT SAMUEL GOMPERS of the American Federation of Labor says he sent no dispatch to W R Hearst urging the editor to use his influence to prevent the league from nominating ts own candidate for President and to urge the league to give its support to William J Bryan because the Deflve r Convention incorporated in its platform planks urged by organized labor Mr Hearst claims that
