he has so faithfully served It has been the custom inthis County made so by the people if a man during his first term of office shows a disposition to make the people an honest efficient servant which Judge Bethurum has done their approval of such official is manifested by a reelection to that roffice Such an endorsement Judge Bethurumnow seeks When his party enlists him for service without faltering or with out cavil he answers and goes to battle for its principles In 105 rs a the Republican nominee for County Judge he lead his party to victory over his opponent by a handsome majority Hardly rested from the fatigue of battle his party in 1906 nominated him as its standard bearer for Congress in this the 8th Congressional District of Kentucky Although defeated the District being Democratic by 3000 majority his race was so creditable that his party last tall without his consent and unsolicited nominated him again for the same office The canvass he made was so thorough vigorous and persistent that he greatly reduced the1 tJehiorratic majority cat tying the coantiesHfbfMadison jarid Garrard bv good majorities and his own county appreciating the honor conferred upon a worthy son gave him the unprecedented majority of over goo The result ol his canvass was approved by the leaders of his party and theJRepublican newspapers of the State The Lexington Leader said The result in the Eighth Distnct is especially gratifying the personal popularity and intelligent canvass made by Judge L W Bethurum the Republican nominee greatly reducing the democratic majority in his District over his i opponent Harvey Helm These two sacrifices made for his party t meant not only loss of time from his business and hard labor but a large expenditure of money Judge Bethurura is a poor man but responding to duty when called by his party the time and labor were freely given and his inoney spent for the cause without a murmur His qualification cannot be questioned As a member of the bar of Kentucky he is recognized by his fellow associates and the people as a lawyer of e inentabilitYIcautiol1r iud painstaking He is now serving his first term as County Judge and those who have
