between the Board of Trustees of the town of Springfield and the Washington County Tele phone Company which throws some light on the jxoubles and complicptionswhich have lately arisen oFof theOhiQ Valley Tele phone Company toiprcibly enter exbhaImatter one of the members of the board said We publish this agreement that the people may understand just how the trustees stand on the question The agreement gives to tne trustees the power toregulate the placing of poles through streets of our tobpIe think that the board is op posed to the Ohio Valley compa ny entering the town at aUt but such is not the case Every member of the board is willing to let them in if they will sign t e same sort of agreement that- e have with the other company but they dontseem to see it that way and so it stands Another point to be considered tJ continued the member and one which I venture to say that few have thought of and that is the inconvenience arising from having two exchanges in operation in the town I think it is the duty of the trustees to look after the best interests of the people and Ii can readily see that two distinct telephone lines and exchanges in town would result in no end of annoyance as the man using an instrument of one company could connect with none except those who patron ized the same company as he so you see how very unsatisfactory that would rbe In the meantime the Ohio Val ley Company has done nothing more The men folio wed out the orders of the trustees about re moving the poled they put in s 0 hastily the other night to the aloneg beenltampedThere are
