Chord who had them sent to Taiham Springs and placed in Chaplin river fefthat point Toe streams ii1 this county are well adapted for jgame fish and are fairly Well stocked with several aative varieties There is a growing evil however which threatens ha destruction of aUl of the fish in our streams andI if continued will make The stocks ng of the waters with new vajj rietios a useless expenditure of trouble and money This evil is the lawless methods of fishing practiced by a lot of fellows who not only hay no appreciation of the real sport of fishing but GO not hesitate to violate the law in tpat regard Seining which is especially prohibited by statute is carried on in the streams of the county in the most open wafI and the pernicious practice of dynamiting is by7 no means un This method of tcommon rowii ing aynamite into a hole of water for the purpose of scan inj fish is by far the mast wanton and destructive practice ever con ceived It destroys all of the j fish small as well as Ihe larger j ones and there is no surer wayI of annihilating fish than this j There is a heavy fine provided for any one found guilty of dy namiting seining or trapping fish in any of the streams of the state and the law isa gcod one and should be enforced IQberligoodMr Frank Sheffold who has the contract for putting in the WI ter works plant The story was prompted by the question being asked if there would be any fish m the new reservoir We wont have any fish put in butt they will get in there in a short while anyway said Mr Sheffold and Twill have wire screens put over all pipes to prevent the fish from being drawn out and stopping tip the water mains Some people may not beleive it possible for fish to get intoa reservoin or pond unless put in by some one or they get in from some stream or iinlet but they do just the same Some time 4go Ii built a storage reservoir about the size of this one here over ia Indiana It was not near any stream nd there was not even a Ipriug OP anything leading into it Whoa the dam was finished there came a big rain and the reseryoir began to fit and in a few days contained eeveral feetof waters Just ten days after tile first water
