is dead Seated upon a chair in his squalid ttle shack in Covington Ky he was und dead Sunday morning about 11 oclock A bullet from a Ilobert rille hich had entered the back of his ead and passed through his brain had raised bis deathtHe was first discovered by his sister earlier in the morning who subse quently went to his room and hotic ing that he had not moved became alarmed and called in a nearbyneigh boreThey tried to arouse Mays but were unable A closer examination was made by them and they discovered blood trickling do wjj from the back of his head The neighbor started for a doctor thinking Mays had fallen and injured himself On reaching e door they met two policemen en ta ring they having received a tele phone message from some unknown person announcing that Mays had been squalid little shack in Covington Ky he was found dead Sunday morning about 11 oclock A bullet from a llobert rifle which had entered the back of his bead and passed through his brain had raised his death He was first discovered by his sister earlier in the morning who subse quently went to his room and notic ing that he had not moved became alarmed and called in a nearby neigh bor They tried to arouse Mays but were unable A closer examination was made by them and they discover ed blood trickling do wo from the back of his head The neighbor started for a doctor thinking Mays had fallen and Injured himself On reaching the door they met two policemen en tering they having received a tele phone message from some unknown person announcing that Mays had been accidentally snot When the of ficers started to enter the room where Mays was they were driven back by his two dogs Jack China and Bounc lug Bell his pets and inseparable companions The dogs being driven into an artjoiningroom by Miss Mays the dead mans sister the officers made a hurried investigation and found that the man had been dead for some time Coroner Tarvin was notified at once and took charge of the case A seatch of
