J., a yer or two Jifio was in ninny respects .1 novol one. For many years tho Pablo residents of the littlo settlement in tho wooila near Darlington havo been in tho habit of holding a watch meeting on Now Year's eve. These meetings are always well attended Iry old and yonnir, and havo often developed a great revival of in that section. A year ago tho watch meeting was n failure because the preacher's watch stopped at half past 11 o'clock, and tho fact was not discovered nntil daylight. To prevent a recurrence of that mistake it was decided last year to havo a big eight day clock, owned by "King" Lewis Armstrong, who has long enjoyed tho honor of rnling tho destinies of Timbuctoo, repaired in proper shape and taken to tho church to mark tho passago of time. This was done, and the clock was put in tho church just bock of tho pulpit whoro every ono could see it. And, to keep tho clock in time, Elder Jordan and Elder Congo wero instructed to have their watches wound up and pet by railroad time to avoid any pcnribility of a mistake. This they agreed to do. Promptly at 8 o'clock the Fervicem begin and tho church was filled. "King" Lewis Armstrong sat in the pulpit with Preacher Qnann, and occonaJly devoted a few minutes to keying the efcore red hot. "Dis yer watch meeting," til Preacher Quann, "will begin wid a hymn, Tme goin' otpt Jerdinjr by sod by.'
