Harrodsburg was treated to a genuine sensation this week, when Kobert C. .Vuckols, cashier of the Mercer National Bank, "came up missing." It was currently rcortcd in diHercnt portions of the county that when the fact became known the depositors made "a grand rush for what was coming to them." On arriving at Harrodsburg a few days after his departure, 1 asked a leading lawyer and the one w ho had been called in to examine Nuckols' accounts, if these reports were truo Hid he Biiiil: "Not a word of it. I examined everything and Nuckols, so far as the Bank is concerned, left nothing out of shape. Everything is square to a dollar." Nuckols left a note stating that he would be back soon, but gave no reason for bis sudden and mysterious departure.
