promptly obtained at Publishers Prices New Music reooived monthly- The Methodist Church was well filled Wednesday afternoon with the friends and relatives of the contracting parties to witness the marriage of Mr Albert G JefTers and Miss Ollie Cain which took place at one and a half oclock on that day Promptly on time the couple entered the Church preceded by the ushers Messrs Robert B Franklin and Emmet T Quin on the right aisle and Messrs B L Bryant of Versailles and Ben H McEwan on the left When they reached the altar the ushers crossed over and took position on the right and left while the bride and groom passed between them and halted immediately in front of the officiating minister Rev Dr C W Miller who stood ready to receive them The Doctor then in his most impressive stvle proceeded to make them man and wife after which the bridal party repaired to the residence of the brides father and remained until the 240 train arrived when they left for a few days visit to Louisville The bride looked unusually sweet in a garnet colored silk and velvet dress with hat to match The Church was darkened from without and brilliantly illuminated from within and the music was sweet and elegantly executed by Mrs John W Rodman and everything went merry as a marriage bell A difficulty occurred in Ilardinsville Shelby county Thursday afternoon between James Bright and Alfred Bently in which Bright was shqt four times and now lies in a critical conditioivthe chances being very much against hisrrecovery It seems there had been a grudge existing between the parties ever since our fair in September and Bently vas a part owner of the building in which Bright kept a bar room which was becoming such a nuisance that steps were taken to eject him from the premises Bently having applied that morn ing to a magistrate for a writ of ejectment In going to his work in the afternoon Bently had to pass Brights door and when Bright saw him came out with a pistol in his hand aud commenced curing and abus Bently moved down the street ing him warning Bright not to follow him but he kept advancing until Bently dtew his pistol and turned on him both firing at the same time Bnglit was drinking and fired wide of his mark but every shot of Realtys took effect Brightwas shot in the hand in the side in the back of the head and one ball entered the mouth just above the mustache on the left side of tho nose and lodged in thO neck which is the most dangerous of the four wounds Bently was arrested and heldju ope hundred dollars boudand will jiave lpp examining trial to
