their rooms and nothing was seen of either Brookshiree or the woman at the hotel until Sunday morning when shre was found dead in her bed She was found by Arnold who n- otcing that she shad not gotten up went to her room to call her He knocked and not receiving an answer opened the dqor which was un lockedand went in There was In awfulodor in the room he says and when he Booked at her he saw that she was dead The room in which she was found was a very small one with no windows in it A small gas l stove without a pipe is used for heat ing it and at the time Airnold found her it was on at full force A tran som above the door was closed and there was no means for ventilation and it is supposed that she was suffocate to death As soon as she was found Dr J N Rfinkn was summoned but he could do nothing to revive her for she hoe evidently been dead jgeveral hours Mi Brookshire who went to the hotel with her stated at the coroners imfucst which was held by Mr H C Nunnelley coroner Sunday aft ernoon that he only stayed in the room with the woman a few minutes and then went up town novel return ing nod produced witnesses which bore him out in tho statement He said that as he left she was preparing to go to bed and that the stove was binning at that time He said that he never returned stud knew nothing of her death until Sunday morning The woman had been married but her husband is dead Her father is also dead but after several Iwwrs effort a brother was located nt forehead and he came down Monday morning to take charge of the remains The inquest was held at the courthouse at 2 oclock and after hearing the testimony the jury returned the following verdict We the jury find the body nndei investigation to be that of Melvir Stuart aged about 30 years and from the testimony
